Donates Political Advertising Revenue To Local Crisis Pregnancy Centers
OVERLAND PARK, Kan, December 19, 2008 – During the recent election campaign, Senator Barack Obama pledged his support to Planned Parenthood for the “Freedom of Choice” Act, which would deal a devastating blow to the rights of the unborn. Senator Obama then purchased advertising on Christian radio stations across the nation, including several Bott Radio Network stations. BRN broadcast the paid political advertisements as required by federal government regulations. But according to BRN Executive Vice President Rich Bott, “Rather than benefiting from the Obama advertising, which amounted to several thousands of dollars, BRN is donating that income to local pro-life organizations in the communities where the advertising was purchased.”
In St. Louis, Missouri, our General Manager Mike McHardy, left, presented a BRN check to Mark Dungan, President and CEO of Thrive, the largest crisis pregnancy center in the metro area.
In the Kansas City area, BRN Senior Account Executive Shane Richardson made our donation to Debbie Hummel, Director of the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, serving ten local communities.
In Branson, BRN General Manager Monna Stafford, right, presented a contribution to Jeanie Williams, Executive Director of the Options Pregnancy Clinic, a compassionate pro-life ministry since 1994.
In Kirksville, Missouri, General Manager Paul Shipman and Production Director Sherie Eklof, left, presented our financial support to Brianne Hunt, Executive Director of the Lifeline Pregnancy Resource Center, an organization dedicated to the sanctity of human life.
In Indiana, General Manager Dale Gerke made a special BRN gift to Judy Hapke, Executive Director of A Hope Center, a respected pro-life resource in Fort Wayne.
“We are thankful for this additional opportunity to partner with these wonderful pro-life organizations that are providing real hope for women in crisis and life saving help for their babies. That’s change we can believe in,” said Rich Bott.
