January 2008 / Bott Radio Network Supports Sanctity of Human Life in Memphis, Walk to Life, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Memphis, Tennessee, Sunday, January 20th
Over 300 hundred pro-life supporters attended the annual Walk to Life sponsored by the local chapter of Tennessee Citizens Concerned for Life in Memphis on January the 20th. The event was held once again at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Many participants held red roses in memory of the human lives destroyed as a result to legalized abortion. The special service marks the 35th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision concerning Roe vs. Wade. Dr. Steve Gaines, Senior Pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church, was the featured speaker. Kent Pruett, President of TCCL opened the service and introduced Byron Tyler, Bott Radio Network Memphis 640 AM Program Director. Byron stated, “Most media outlets either ignore or distort this crucial issue of abortion. Bott Radio Network has over 65 stations and continues to grow while being committed to broadcasting the truth about abortion and its effect of destroying human lives inside the womb as well as human lives outside the womb.” A couple of women read the names of children that had been aborted in Shelby County during 2007. Several women from H.O.P.E. (Helping Others with Post-abortion Experience) completed the tearful service by placing a wreath on the steps of the nearby Planned Parenthood office.
