November 2008 / Bott Radio Network Partners with Local Church in Memphis to Help Feed Needy Families, Friday, November 7th

Friday, November 7th the Memphis Bott Radio Network team and listeners joined hands in gathering food items for needy families in the inner city. This was the 17th year to show support for Pastor Francis Ssebikindu of the Living Water Community Church to provide Thanksgiving food baskets. Bott Radio listeners were asked to bring canned & non-perishable food items to help meet the need. This year’s Bott Radio Network Super-Lo food drive was the biggest ever with many local businesses co-sponsoring the event including our live broadcast at the Super-Lo Foods location on Spotswood. Randy Stepherson, owner of Memphis area Super- Lo Foods and his staff provided excellent support in their 2nd year as the main sponsor of this community wide event. We would like to give special thanks to Rowsey Furniture Supermarket for giving away a beautiful oak gathering table with chairs, Chuck Hutton Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep for giving away an HP laptop computer with HP color photo printer. We also appreciate One & Only BBQ for serving their delicious bbq for all who stopped by and donated to the drive and The Shot Nurse for offering flu vaccinations to anyone willing to feel a “small stick.” Other sponsors for this year’s food drive included Marci Russell with Pulaski Mortgage, Union University, Brim’s Snack Foods, A-1 Homes- residential roofing specialists, Turner Ice Cream, Mike Volner Retirement Planning, Fast Signs, Lenny’s Sub Shops, Flowers & Gifts by Regis and Conway Services Heating & Cooling.
