January 2009 / Bott Radio Network Co-Sponsors the Missouri Governor’s Prayer Breakfast, Thursday, January 8th

The Governor’s Prayer Breakfast was held on January 8th, 2009, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, Missouri. The theme was selected by Governor Blunt, “God’s Amazing Grace,” and there were over 600 in attendance. The purpose of the breakfast was for our elected officials to seek God and His will as a bi-partisan effort to work together for the good of our state at the beginning of the new session. Sue Stoltz, Area Manager for Bott Radio Network in Mid-Missouri hosted a table and her guests are sponsors of BRN. Mike Kelly with The Insurance Group and “Voice of the Tigers” presided as the Master of Ceremonies. Mayor John Landwehr gave the invocation and call to worship. Special Music was by the Fulton High School Chamber Singers. First Scripture Reading was by State Representative Paul LeVota, House Minority Floor Leader, District 52 from Independence. Intercessory Prayer was offered by Senator Charlie Shields, Senate President Pro Tem, District 34 from Kansas City. Second Scripture Reading was given by State Representative Steven Tilley, House Majority Floor Leader, District 106 from Perryville. Solo was performed by Katie Reichard from Jefferson City. Governor’s Remarks by the Honorable Matt Blunt. Keynote Speaker by Catherine Hanaway from St. Louis, Missouri, who has been the Presidentially-appointed United States Attorney for the Eastern District since 2005. She was the former Speaker of the House and Secretary of State in Missouri. “God Bless America,” and our National Anthem were sung by Kayla Flowers, a sophomore at Jefferson City High School. Benediction by Governor-Elect Jeremiah (Jay) Nixon.

Over 600 attended the Governor's Prayer Breakfast the morning of January 8th to pray for the state and all elected officials.
