January 2009 / Bott Radio Network Voices Support for Israel at Special News Conference, Tuesday, January 6th
On Thursday, January 6th, Bott Radio Network’s Director of Public Affairs and Encounter host, the Reverend Harold Hendrick joined with several Missouri elected officials at a special press conference held to voice support for Israel and its right to defend itself from attacks coming from the Gaza strip by the terrorist group Hamas.
Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder joined in the press conference as a result of slanted news coverage against the State of Israel. He in turn contacted his friend, former Senator Jim Talent, now with the Department of Homeland Security’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Committee, and told him something had to be done. This resulted in a bipartisan group of current and former legislators coming together for the press conference, which was held at the Jewish Federation’s Kopolow building. Others included Rep. Jake Zimmerman, D-Olivette, Rep. Rachel Storch, D-St. Louis City/County, Rep. Maria Chapelle-Nadal, D-University City, Sen. John Loudon, R-St. Louis County, Rep. Jane Cunningham R-West St. Louis County. Bott Radio Network’s Hendrick emphasized that Israel has a right to defend herself, especially since 6,600 missiles had been showered upon her by terrorists in Gaza…and continue to fall upon Israeli civilians to this very day. He referenced the following scripture: “The prophet Ezekiel foretold more than 2,500 years ago: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.' Ezekiel 17:11”
