April 2009 / Bott Radio Network and Christian radio across Nebraska promote “Freedom Conquest ‘09” Saturday, April 19th
Bott Radio Network in Nebraska was privileged to support an outreach of Mission Nebraska www.missionnebraska.org called “Freedom Conquest ’09.” The event drew 4,200 adult and young men to Lincoln Nebraska’s Pershing Auditorium Saturday, April 18th, 2009. The milestone outreach was an unprecedented call to what Mission Nebraska co-founder Coach Ron Brown called “Nebraska’s greatest resource – our Men”, a challenge to live out a calling to this generation.
“Freedom Conquest ‘09” was organized and led by Mission Nebraska, a statewide outreach ministry co-founded by Stan Parker and Ron Brown, Assistant Coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, conference speaker and host of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Sharing the Victory, heard Saturdays at 12:00 p.m. over more than eighty-one Bott Radio Network stations and outlets, including Audio Stream and Sky Angel. Mission Nebraska’s calling in organizing the event was to make a significant long-term impact on Nebraska men by intentionally investing in the next generation, Nebraska’s sons.
4200 men participated in “Freedom Conquest ‘09.” Following a morning session at Pershing Auditorium (Lincoln, Nebraska) the thousands of men at the event walked to Memorial Stadium to watch the Spring Game of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, afterwards returning for the evening conference.
The Katinas, www.thekatinas.com, are a contemporary Christian music group. The family of five brothers hails from American Samoa originally. The group’s members sang in church as children and began playing at local fairs, soon moving up to nationwide slots opening for artists such as DC Talk and Amy Grant. Greatly valuing the opportunity to invest in the Nebraska conference, the Katinas led worship at “Freedom Conquest ’09.”
The day-long “Freedom Conquest ‘09” event included challenging presentations by Mission Nebraska’s co-founders Stan Parker and Ron Brown. Ron Brown is pictured here.
