May 2009 / Bott Radio Network Sponsors Inaugural Branson Airport Air Show, May 8th – 10th
Bott Radio Network Southwest Missouri was privileged to be Raptor Sponsors for the Branson Air Show at the grand opening of the brand new Branson Airport, May 8th-10th. The Branson Airport Air Show team did a wonderful job of hosting this fantastic event. Despite rain before and during the weekend, not one event was cancelled. Estimates are that over 50,000 people attended the air show on Saturday alone! The weekend featured the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds, the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, airplane aerobatics, and precision flying routines. The Branson Airport also hosted many static airplane displays including experimental aircraft and World War II vintage aircraft. It was a privilege for us to sponsor this inaugural show and to interact with hundreds of our listeners over the course of the event.
Among the modern aircraft on hand, there were static displays of war birds of the past. Here a World War II B-17 is admired while on display.

The crowd is growing to watch the Air Show. The USAF Thunderbirds precision demonstration team sits at the ready in the back left of this photo. The Thunderbirds traditionally close the air shows in which they perform.
