October 2009 / Rain Showers Didn’t Stop Memphis Support for Life During Life Chain, Sunday, October 4th

Despite the rain showers on Sunday afternoon, October 4th, from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., Memphians showed their support for Life by coming out for National Life Chain Sunday. Pro-life advocates showed up on the Poplar Avenue route from the Mississippi River eastward toward the Fayette County line. The Life Chain signs were back printed to feature Prayer Topics, Songs of Meditation, the Life Chain Code of Conduct, and a compelling statement on The Purpose of Life Chain. The Life Chain is a time for prayerful self-analysis, repentance, and serious commitment to helping end abortion in our nation. A week prior to Sunday’s event, local Life Chain director, Marilyn Loeffel, and organizer Stan Schultz participated in a live call in talk show with Bott Radio Network Memphis’ Byron Tyler on AM 640. You can hear the program on our web site by looking for the Mid-South View Point Archives listed on the orange navigation banner of our Memphis home page.

LIfe Chain signs line the streets of Poplar Avenue during Life Chain Sunday, October 4th.

Cheerful and wet faces put the pro-life message on the streets of Memphis.

The same message is displayed all along the street- the simple truth displayed by sincere, prayerful people in Memphis.

Pro-life messaging is a family activity, even in the driving rain!
