Bott Radio Network co-sponsored the National Day of Prayer 2009 Prayer Summit. Sue Stoltz, BRN Manager and Midwest NDP National Area Leader, also presented gifts to the NDP Coordinators from the P. Graham Dunn Gallery.
This year National Day of Prayer had close to 350 people join them at their annual Prayer Summit in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They started on October 16th by attending Focus on the Family’s Chapel service. Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council was the key note speaker and said that “There will not be a political solution until we see a spiritual solution.”
Shirley Dobson opened the General Summit on Friday afternoon announcing the 2010 theme, Scripture and Honorary Chairman. The theme is “PRAYER-For Such a Time As This.” The theme verse is “The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.” -Nahum 1:7.
Franklin Graham will be the 2010 Honorary Chairman. His son, Will Graham, spoke several times during the Summit and led in a time of repentance during the Solemn Assembly. Will’s powerful message stressed the importance of prayer, repentance and the influence of the church.
There was a Concert of Prayer throughout the weekend. The coordinators spent time in prayer and intercession for the seven centers of power. Sue Stoltz, Mid-Missouri Area Manager for Bott Radio Network, led in prayer for Ed and Sandy Moore, and their ministry, Prayer Force One.
Tony Perkins, FRC, and Tom Minnery, Focus on the Family Public Policy led a question & answer session and prayer for the Government.
David Butts, President of the National Prayer Committee, led the communion service and closed the session Sunday with a challenge for the participants to go back to their communities and pray for our nation. He said, “You are seated with Christ in the Heavenlies. You are in the throne room. It is a place of power.”
Shirley Dobson gave a scripture and said for the coordinators to read it daily to keep them encouraged and focused. It is Psalm 118:6-8 “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The Lord is with me; He is my Helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.”
