
December 2011 / Bott Radio Network Celebrates 25 Years in Memphis, Thursday, December 8th
Dr. Dick Bott, Founder and Chairman of Bott Radio Network and Rich Bott, President/CEO of BRN hosted a luncheon on December 8th with Community Leaders, Pastors, & City Ministries to celebrate Christmas as well as the 25th anniversary of BRN in Memphis on 640AM. Around 250 people from across the community enjoyed fellowship, a nice meal, and stories of God at work through the Bible teaching ministry of BRN 640 AM with 50,000 watts of power for Memphis & the Mid-South. Several City Ministry Leaders as well as Government Leaders were recognized with special awards for outstanding service to the city.
Students from Westminster Christian Academy filled the foyer with beautiful sounds of Christmas while guests entered the ballroom.

Attendees at the luncheon were lifted to thanks & praise after Laurie Foster sang, “Oh, Holy Night.” Mr. Bott was ready to take Laurie to the next BRN Christmas luncheon in Branson the very next day!
Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell received the Christian Statesmanship Award for his public display & example of Christian character in the community. Mayor Luttrell listens daily to 640AM and especially enjoys Dr. J. Vernon McGee on Thru the Bible. The Award reads, "Christian Statesmanship Award presented to Mark Lutrell, Mayor, Shelby County. For holding fast to principle and integrity in a sea of cultural compromise. Proverbs 29:2"
Pastor Rolando Rostro of Iglesia Nueva Vida Church in Memphis shares how 640 AM helped to disciple him when he arrived in Memphis. He says that 640 AM helped to form his theology & helped to prepare him as a Pastor.

Dr. David & Esther Evans, creators of The Grace Card movie, filmed in Memphis, receive The Great American Award in their efforts of penetrating the film media with a powerful message of grace, forgiveness, and reconciliation. The Award reads, "Great American Award presented to Dr. David & Esther Evans for your creativity and faithfulness in communicating the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 1:3" Dr. Evans is owner of Total Eye Care and is a regular advertiser on 640AM. The Evans are joined by Bott Radio Network President/CEO Rich Bott & BRN Memphis 640AM General Manager, Todd Payne.

Shelby County Commissioner, Heidi Shafer, was totally surprised to receive the Christian Statesmanship Award. Mrs. Shafer was instrumental in leading the charge to move federal funds from local Planned Parenthood to a local faith based clinic group that doesn’t do abortions. The Award reads, "Christian Statesmanship Award presented to Heidi Shafer, Commissioner. For holding fast to principle and integrity in a sea of cultural compromise. Proverbs 29:2"
Dr. Bob Reccord ,Executive Director for the Council for National Policy (CNP), a non-profit educational foundation based in Washington, D.C. was our Special Guest Speaker at the Luncheon. CNP seeks to advance the “First Principles” of this nation’s Founding Fathers.
Pastor Tom Cox of Brinkley Heights Urban Academy shares a word after receiving The Faithful Shepherd Award. Pastor Tim started this ministry 23 years ago in a drug & crime filled area of the city. The Award reads, "Faithful Shepherd Award presented to Reverend Tim Cox. Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly... I Peter 5:2-4"
Dr. Carolyn Bibbs of Creative Life, Inc., a Christian preparatory school in the inner city of Memphis receives The Faithful Servant Award as a reminder of her dedication in training children with God’s Word. The Award reads, "Faithful Servant Award presented to Dr. Carolyn Bibbs in recognition of your tireless, creative and sacrificial work for children. Luke 18:16."
