Mustard Seed Furniture Bank
5429 Keystone Drive,
Fort Wayne, Indiana

Based on a concept started over twenty years ago in Central Florida our agency assists the economically disadvantaged members of our community to rebuild their lives through provision of basic household items. Since 2002, the Mustard Seed has served the homeless, domestic violence victims, persons with debilitating illnesses, the elderly, the disabled, fire victims, and others who are struggling to reestablish a home.

The Mustard Seed staff works closely with over 70 local agencies such as Stop Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN), COMMUNITY Action of Northeast Indiana (CANI), Park Center, Veterans Administration, along with many other organizations. Through firsthand knowledge and a written referral the staff of the Mustard Seed receives a list of the client’s specific needs. Clients visit the Mustard Seed to complete a brief application process; they choose and transport their household items to make their house or apartment their new home.

Clients can choose various large items of furniture on their visit to the Mustard Seed; but also obtain their need for basic kitchen items along with linens, blankets, and towels. It is hard to fathom that children in Fort Wayne may be sleeping with numerous other siblings in the same bed, or possibly on a cold floor with just a blanket to wrap up in. The Beds4Kids Program provides each child of the household with a new twin mattress, box spring along with necessary blankets and sheets to snuggle up with their favorite bedtime buddy.

The mission of the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank of Fort Wayne, Inc. is “to help rebuild the lives of families and individuals who have suffered disaster, personal tragedy, or adverse circumstances by providing household furnishings.”

For more information please call (260) 471-5802 or online at www.mustardseedfortwayne.com.
