Samaritan’s Road is the only truck ministry in the area that reaches out to drivers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The trucker’s chapel is located at Newell Truck Plaza, exit 31 on I-135 in Newton.
Samaritan’s Road started when realizing there was a need for a ministry that would share the gospel with truck drivers. There wasn’t a truck ministry anywhere with the surrounding area of Wichita when Air Capital Truck Stop in Park City became the first place of ministry on November 11, 2001. On November 17, 2002 the chapel was moved to Newell Truck Plaza in Newton. Services are held in the Trucker’s Chapel from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. each Sunday. Samaritan’s Road also provide cassette tapes, CD’s, Bibles, Bible tracts, note pads and other material for use by the truck driver.
Some of the goals for Samaritan’s Road are to build a solid ministry through the use of many committed volunteers and churches; share the gospel with long distance drivers; personally thank each driver for the job they are doing and for the sacrifice they make from their family; build friendships and relationships when ever possible with those who visit; provide local churches with mission opportunities; provide the truckers with a place of worship, fellowship and love; bring respect and understanding toward the truck drivers and the trucking industry as a whole.
For more information concerning Samaritan’s Road call 316-322-7133 after 5:00 p.m. during the week; write Samaritan’s Road, P. O. Box 461, Andover, Kansas 67002; or email email@example.com.
